Tax Lawyers

We represent individuals and private corporations in tax disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency during audits by Agency auditors, in objections to the Agency’s Appeals Division, at trials in the Tax Court of Canada, in appeals to the Federal Courts and in applications for fairness relief and remission orders. We also help other lawyers and accountants resolve tax disputes for their clients.

Our principal, Richard G. Fitzsimmons, is the author of "Resolving Tax Disputes" published by CCH Canadian Ltd. (2nd ed., 2004).

We also provide tax and estate planning services, including: preparing wills and powers of attorney; incorporating holding corporations; establishing family trusts; implementing estate freezes and capital gains crystallisations; developing strategies to reduce or defer income tax and estate administration costs; and estate administration.

We practice in association with lawyers who provide our clients with counsel in real estate transactions and development, civil litigation, corporate and commercial transactions and estate administration.

We are members of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association and the North York Chamber of Commerce.
